You are cordially invited to attend 5th International Conference “LANGUAGES AND THE WORLD: RESEARCH AND TEACHING”, to be held at the School of Foreign Languages, The Volodymyr Vynnychenko State Pedagogical University of Kirovohrad, Ukraine, from March 24th till March 25th, 2011.
While papers on all aspects of language research and teaching are welcome, the conference will focus on:
• Language Systems in the Polyethnic and Multicultural Space;
• Language Mappings of the World;
• Linguocultural, Sociocultural and Intercultural Problems of Communication and Translation;
• Current Issues of Foreign Language Teachers and Translators’ Professional Training.
The working languages of the conference are Ukrainian, Russian, English and German.

The Conference will include plenary and sectional meetings, and
workshops led by the leading specialists in the fields of foreign
language teaching and translation/interpreting.
Presentation formats and participation options:

To take part in the conference please apply by e-mail: languages&[email protected] before December 31st, 2010.
An application should include full name (with a patronymic) of the applicant, their academic degree and title, place of employment, telephone number, physical mail and e-mail addresses, the topic of the presentation, Session number (see above).
Please submit the papers for publication (7- 10 pages in hard or soft copies) before December 31st, 2010.
Please consider the requirements for
text format - MS Word, font - Times New Roman, font size - 14, interval
– 1.5, margins: left-2.5 cm, right-1.5 cm, upper and bottom-2.0 cm - 2
cm, indentation – 1.25 cm.
The title of the article should be
capitalized (alignment - center), the second line should have the
author's first and last names, and country (center). The article should
also have a 150-250-character abstract in English (up to 4 lines). The
bibliography should be at the end of the article in alphabetical order.
The bibliographical references in the text of the article should be put
in square brackets in accordance with the State Standard (GOST) of
Ukraine, e.g. [7, p.25].
Please make sure that your paper includes reference to relevant conference theme(s), the conceptual/ theoretical underpinning, relating to the previous research, methodology (if you conducted empirical research), the context, findings/results and value of your research/practice for your potential audience.

The collection of the submitted articles will be issued prior to the beginning of the conference. Publication fee is 20 UAH (approximately $2,5) per page. Doctors of Philosophy are exempt from publication fee. Payment information will be sent with the second circular.
Please note that the organizing committee reserves the right to deny the publication of the articles that are irrelevant to the agenda of the conference and/or are inadequately formatted. After a short review process, notifications will be sent out in the middle of February, 2011.
